We had such an amazing trip at the south by southwest music festival! The streets were packed and filled with all kinds of people from music enthusiast to party goers. Austin had such a cool vibe because it is so rich in culture and art. Random buildings were splattered with murals and fun art around the city. One of my favorites was of course a white brick building that had a bold colorful lion and front and center were the words that Emily and I both live by, "Aspire to inspire before you expire." It was such a moving piece.
As far as the social scene goes, we spent the majority of day at the W Austin. It was such a chic and cool setting because they had multiple rooms you could bounce around in. One was dark, red and sophisticated that had an upscale vibe and pretty bar. The other was comfortable and contemporary with a nice fireplace. The one we settled on was laid back, bright, and had colorful braided rugs throughout the room. What they all had in common was this amazing dj that mixed house, 90's R&B, and todays hiphop music all in one. It was perfection.
As for food we tried this awesome 'fancy hotdog' place downtown Austin that was delicious. I highly recommend it and so does yelp giving it 4 stars out of 1595 reviews! --> Its called, FRANK.
There was so much to and many artist to see. The only thing I would suggest if you go next year is to do your research on the artist you want to see ahead of time. Also pack comfortable shoes (this is to my fashionistas trying to be cute 24/7) bring some cute sneakers, covered sandals, or slip ons that you can wear day and night. You will be doing a lot of dancing and walking.
If you are an entrepreneur, come ready with those business cards. There are so many people to connect with its insane.
Overall it was a blast!
